Why switch

Зачем искать альтернативы Airtable

How to choose

Look at what the base is actually doing before you price anything. If it is mostly documents with a table attached, meaning specs, notes and a handbook that grew a tracker, Notion holds all of that in one workspace and costs less per seat than Airtable at the entry paid tier in our data. If it is a list of work with owners and dates, that is a task tracker rather than a database, and ClickUp is built for exactly that at a lower per-seat price than either. If the expensive part is that colleagues need seats only in order to look at things, the answer may not be a migration at all: put Glide or Softr in front of the data and let most people use an app instead of the base. And if the base has genuinely outgrown itself, with relationships that no longer fit and record counts that keep meeting the ceiling, Bubble gives you a real application with its own database, at the cost of a build. The one move to avoid is switching to a cheaper spreadsheet. If your data is relational, a cheaper grid saves money for a quarter and then costs you the structure that made the base worth keeping.

Notion is the most common destination for a base that was never really a database. It combines notes, docs, databases and boards in one workspace, and at the entry paid tier it costs less per seat than Airtable in our data, which is usually the reason the conversation started. For a team whose Airtable base sits alongside a wiki somewhere else, consolidating into Notion removes a subscription and a source of confusion at the same time. What you give up is real: Notion's databases are lighter than Airtable's, and no no-code app builder in this directory treats Notion as a first-class backend the way both Softr and Glide treat Airtable. Its own notes also warn that workspaces get disorganised, which is a governance problem rather than a product one.

4.6

ClickUp is the right answer when the Airtable base is a project tracker wearing a database costume. It carries tasks, docs, goals and dashboards, is highly customisable in how it displays the same work, and its entry per-seat price is the lowest of the workspace tools here in our data. Teams that consolidate onto it usually cancel more than one subscription in the process. The reasons not to are in its own notes: it can feel overwhelming, and there is occasional performance lag, both of which are the price of a tool that does many things at once. And it is not a database. If other systems need to read your records, this is a step in the wrong direction and Airtable was the right choice all along.

4.6

Glide often reduces an Airtable bill without replacing Airtable at all, which is why it sits this high. It builds a mobile or web app from spreadsheet or Airtable data, so the people who only need to read a few records and update a field can do that in an app rather than as editors inside the base. For field teams and internal tools this is the difference between paying for everyone and paying only for the few who maintain the data. It can also replace Airtable outright for simple trackers by running on Google Sheets instead. Its own limits apply either way, being limited for complex logic and rising costs at scale, so check the arithmetic at your own row count.

4.5

Softr does for portals what Glide does for internal apps: it puts an interface over an Airtable base so most people never need a seat in the base itself. Pre-built blocks cover memberships, client portals and internal tools, and the result looks like a product rather than a spreadsheet, which matters when the audience is customers rather than colleagues. It is the better of the two when the users are external and the content is structured; Glide is better when the users are staff and the device is a phone. Its own notes name the same fundamental constraint, being tied to an external data source, which here is the point rather than a flaw, because the data stays where your automations already are.

4.5

Bubble is the one entry here that is more work than staying put, and it is the right call in a narrow case: the base has stopped being a base. Relationships no longer fit the grid, record counts keep meeting the ceiling, and half the team is working around the structure rather than inside it. Bubble gives you a visual editor with its own database and workflow logic, which is what Airtable's own guidance points at when it says to look elsewhere for a true relational database or for very high record volumes. Expect a build rather than a migration, and expect to tune performance yourself, which Bubble's notes are candid about. Do not choose this one to save money.
