Load Testing

Load testing measures how your system behaves under realistic or extreme traffic — hundreds or thousands of simultaneous users — so you discover the breaking point in a controlled test rather than during your launch on Product Hunt. You script representative user journeys (log in, hit the API, run a query) and a tool like k6, Locust, or Gatling replays them at rising concurrency while you watch latency, error rates, and resource usage. The goal isn't a single "requests per second" trophy number; it's finding where the curve bends — the point where p95 latency spikes or errors start, and which resource (CPU, database connections, a downstream API) is the bottleneck. For SaaS builders, load testing turns capacity planning from guesswork into evidence and validates autoscaling and rate limits before real users do. Run it against a production-like environment, not your laptop, and tie your pass/fail criteria to your SLOs so "fast enough" means something concrete.
