Two-Way Sync

Two-way sync keeps the same records consistent across two systems in both directions: change a deal stage in your CRM and it updates in Airtable; edit it in Airtable and it flows back to the CRM. It matters because one-directional sync quietly creates stale, conflicting copies — the number-one cause of "which system is right?" confusion once two tools share data. The hard part is conflict resolution: if a record changes on both sides between syncs, the platform needs a rule for who wins (last-write-wins, source-of-truth priority, or field-level merge). For builders, the practical notes are to designate a system of record per field, use stable unique IDs to match records (never names or emails alone), and test what happens on deletes — a two-way sync that propagates an accidental deletion can wipe both systems. Tools like Whalesync and Sequin handle the plumbing, but you own the conflict policy.
