Data Enrichment

Data enrichment is an automation step that takes a thin record — an email, a domain, a phone number — and fills in additional attributes from a third-party source: company size, job title, location, social profiles, technographics. It matters because the data you capture is usually minimal (a signup form asks for an email, not a full firmographic profile), yet sales, scoring, and personalization all need context. Drop an enrichment step between "new lead" and "add to CRM," and every contact arrives pre-populated. Common no-code enrichment sources include Clearbit, Apollo, People Data Labs, and Hunter, called via native connectors or a custom API request. Practical notes: enrichment providers charge per lookup, so filter to records worth enriching and cache results to avoid paying twice for the same domain. Match rates are never 100%, so design downstream logic to tolerate missing fields rather than assuming enrichment always succeeds.
